Larry Baer is the CEO of the San Francisco Giants. The Giants CEO has been with the team since 1992 and became Giants CEO in 1995. Larry has also overseen the team’s two World Series championships in 2010 and 2012. Baer began his career with the SF Giants in 1992 as executive vice-president. In 1995, when Peter Magowan became managing general partner of the team, Baer was promoted to CEO. Magowan had purchased the team from Bob Lurie in 1992.
Baer has been a significant part of the Giants’ success on and off the field. Under his leadership, the Giants have won two World Series championships in 2010 and 2012. The SF Giants CEO was also instrumental in the development of AT&T Park, which opened in 2000. In addition to the ballpark, Baer has overseen several other significant changes to the team’s business operations since 2010.
In 2013, when Baer signed a contract extension with the San Francisco Giants through 2018, he shared his thoughts on being CEO of one of the most successful teams in baseball: “This is a dream job. I’ve been a baseball fan since age 4. It’s a dream job from my perspective to be able to lead this organization that is not only the best team in its sport, but has become an international brand.” In 2014, Baer signed another contract extension through 2022. In 2016, he was ranked #5 on the “Forbes” list of the most influential people in sports.

He was later CFO for a software company, VP of finance for an international toy manufacturer, and president of a real estate development firm.
