David Schmidt: The Importance of Focus: Interview with the CEO of LifeWave

Before spending too much time on a particular topic, David Schmidt considers all the possible options and systematically completes his tasks.

When a design has been finalized, the CEO focuses on delivering and on quality.

For those who want to join the ranks of the most successful, you have to know what success means to you.

Schmidt is not one to stand idly by, though.

He has turned that lightning-fast speed of innovation into a central tenet for his company.

Through his observations in the marketplace, David Schmidt has found that life is a marathon.

Because the quantity and quality of work are continuous, distractions must be absorbed deliberately.

David Schmidt used this approach at Apple, helping to develop both the Macintosh and the iPod.

He even was involved in designing the iPhone.

David Schmidt says, “The way we approach our products is quite different.

Our priority is health and wellness.

Our job is to deliver products that meet people where they are.”

“I constantly keep a check on the fundamentals of LifeWave’s strategy.

I am not focused on urgent projects or decisions.

LifeWave is not a complex company.

My focus is on maintaining steady growth,” says David Schmidt, CEO of LifeWave.

The CEO has effectively improved the quality of LifeWave’s products.

David Schmidt adds, “When I looked at the capabilities of LifeWave’s product development team, I realized that the company was capable of innovating new designs.

That’s when I turned my attention to life testing.”

“I am a firm believer that one of the greatest hindrances to success is focusing on what is in front of you.

That’s as opposed to what’s going on in your mind and the goals you set,” says Schmidt.

“We’ve gotten so good at doing things faster and more efficiently, making workers left behind.

The very workforce that has made the most gains in the past 50 years has faced the slowed down.”
